Organized Builders was employed to build 2 x 2 story Architect designed townhouses whilst retaining the original front façade brickwork which was built in the 1880’s in South Yarra for an astute developer. Unit 1 comprise 3 bedrooms, 2 x bathrooms, 1 x large study /living and a large open plan living/kitchen area whilst Unit 2 comprises 2 x bedrooms, 1 x study/bedroom, 2 x bathrooms and a large open plan living/kitchen area. Both units have large first floor balconies, large lockup garages, double glazed commercial windows, VM Zinc cladding, solid timber floors, stone benches, complete zoned a/c and much more.
The existing brickwork retained was a beautiful period corner shopfront façade with detailed corbelled brickwork and original stucco render and mouldings which required extensive steel propping during the build.
The site is on the corner of 2 single lane one-way streets with little room for parking and extremely limited truck delivery with a maximum length of truck that can turn the corner being only 9.6 mtrs long.
Mid way through construction the client appointed a new Architect who completely redesigned the build with the living, dining, Kitchen and master bedroom to be moved from ground floor to the first floor. Extensive re-works were required to complete the extremely large variation.
The 2 completed luxuriously appointed Architect designed South Yarra townhouses were started in October 2013 and were completed in November 2014.
